Hello people. I am currently trying to decide whether to purchase some active or passie monitors for my set-up and was hoping to get some advice here. Do i actually need to go down the active monitor route if i have a seperate amplifier or is it pretty pointless? I have a pretty basic set-up and am looking to spend about 300 squids on a set of monitors. Is there much different between active and passive monitors using seperate ampliflier?
Thanks for any advice. |

With active monitors your are guaranteed an exact amp to monitor match. Going passive with an amp not suited to the monitors can lead to less than desirable results.
