I recently bought a G4 1.25Ghz single CPU Powermac to replace my ailing 350Mhz G4. I had an AW8 pCI card and popped it in the new G4. I immediately got a distorted, interference type sound coming from the Mac outputs (not the AW8 outputs). My computer also started to jam. Freezing and looping a short snippet of sound. It would do this in any program. I am currently (well if the thing would bloody work!!) using Logic 4.7 Platinum in OS 9 and all my other programs in Panther. I've tried new drivers off the net, looked for earth loops on my gear but to no avail. It never did this on my old G4. If I remove the AW8 the problems stop, but no decent soundcard for recording. The AW8 also worked on my mates G3 after this. I bought an M-audio Delta 410 PCI card and had the same problems. Is it likely to be a problem with my G4? has anyone else had this problem? Or has anyone got solutions? Sorry to be so longwinded cheers willie willie@babacool.co.uk

I'm using an AW8 on the same G4 Mac as you with no problems. I've only tried it in OSX with Garageband. Does your AW8 have the V1 chip? That may be the problem. Mine is V2.
