Hi,
What's up with my motu 896?
1/4 jack is ok on each input, as soon as i connect un mic in XLR, there's no signal at all - the mics and cables work. i'm obviously missing something, but the thing is, a week ago, it worked fine.
i've got logic 4.7 and DP3 on OS9 (and SparkXL and others on OSX).
can anyone help me?

uh… does your mic needs phantom power? If so, try to switch it on…
(I know that's the obvious but let's start from it wink.gif

Hi,
Thanks for replying ; no, the phantom power isn't needed for these mics (dynamic mics), and even with it on there is no level. The thing is, it works with guitars, etc (jack inputs), and Logic and DP3 see all the inputs and can record everything, but as soon as we put a mic on it, there's nothing.
Thanks
(au fait, je parle français, c'est comme tu veux.)

Hi there!!!
If the cable works check the pins of the XLR cable, I know that there are two different configurations of the XLR and they are not compatible. If the pins are different or the cable is wired wrongly it will not work at all.

Hope it helps!!!
