I'm using Logic gold, and I want to add to my plug-ins - both effects and softsynths. I seem to remember reading that I can use non-emagic products, such as Native Instruments, but I don't know what is available. any help?

do a search for Native Instruments on the web and you should be able to find the company website with a list of their offerings.

most any VST plug whether made by Emagic or someone else should work with your Logic if you are in OS9. I am still a bit confused how the plugs work in OSX so I cannot comment on that version of Logic. cool.gif

to use plugins that are not audio units you will need to have an os x installer of the plugin, or you can use fxpansion vst to au adapter/wrapper. it works well and you can find it by doing a search on google for fxpansion.\

happy recording,

jeremy

Hi. I am currently using Logic 6 Platinum running on a G4 with Panther. I use the following as plug-ins: Stylus, Novation V-Station, Absynth, Atmosphere, Kontakt, Battery, and Garritan Personal Orchestra. There have been no major problems. You do have to be sure and get the latest update downloads from the manufacturer websites for some of these programs. I also run Reason 2.5. If you install this and use Logic, you have to be careful about the Rex shared file library extension, which can be corrupted by Logic. The Propellerhead website offers an updated extension file which corrects this bug.
