Hi all. I'm new to all this, but learning rapidly. I want to be able to get 24bit audio at higher sample rates (not necessarily 96khz, but it might be nice) into my Mac. I'd like to find a PCI card that will allow me to do this. Here's the catch. That's all I want. No frills. No MIDI, no Samplers, no effects processors, no nothing. Just one or possibly two channels of high quality audio at a reasonable price. Every web search I do turns up amazing products, all of which do far more than I need and cost far more than I'm willing to spend. Any recommendations would be most appreciated.

i would look at the recording section at MusiciansFriend.com

I think M-Audio has an interface that may be the simple high quality sound you are looking for (24bit 48khz or 96khz not sure) and it sells for a couple of hundred bucks or less. I can't be sure on that but it seems like I seen that interface in a catalog a couple months ago.

The product you want is the M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496. Very reasonably priced, does what it says on the tin, and has a bit of bundled software too. It includes a breakout cable with a MIDI I/O on it, but you can't have everything. In the UK these retail for under £160.
