I can't get logic to recognise the TASCAM FW-1884. I've downloaded the driver off the tascam site but when i open it nothing happens. My Mac isn't online so i downloaded the driver using the PC, burnt it and then tried it on the mac. Could that be the problem? It doesn't seem to do anything with a .sea file. Any ideas?

The file you use is a .sea ?
.sea are Self Extracting Archives from Stuffit… If you have the choice, download a .bin or a .hqx or a .dmg (on OSX) and keep them in this form till you are on the mac. ... I've had a look… you have only .sit files for logic support, I make a .zip and send them to you by email. Use ZipIt or The StuffIt Expander to open it on the mac. -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

QUOTE Thanx for the Archive.zip. Oops someone spotted it QUOTE When i click on the FW1884bundle_logic_osx.sit a file appears called FW-1884.bundle, the icon just looks like a white page with a folded corner, clicking on this seems to do do nothing. It just says something about searching for the right application to open it. Any ideas? .bundle files are usually hidden in the library folder Check for library/audio/ or library/tascam or library/application support/ Mind there are 2 library folders one at the first level of the system drive, the other in your user folder. QUOTE Do you own a FW-1884? I've had mine since november + still can't get it working, driving me mental. No I don't own one… I just happen to hear a lot about things here (btw I'm a genius -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

QUOTE (lepetitmartien @ Feb 11 2004, 18:42) QUOTE When i click on the FW1884bundle_logic_osx.sit a file appears called FW-1884.bundle, the icon just looks like a white page with a folded corner, clicking on this seems to do do nothing. Any ideas? .bundle files are usually hidden in the library folder Check for library/audio/ or library/tascam or library/application support/ Mind there are 2 library folders one at the first level of the system drive, the other in your user folder. There is a document describing the exact steps to follow to installe the FW1884 driver for Logic. It is called fw1884_logic_note_1_00.pdf. It tells you exactly where to put FW-1884.bundle: in "~/Library/Application Support/Emagic/MIDI Device Plug-ins" I can copy the text from that pdf here if you want. Note however that FW-1884.bundle is only the control surface driver. It is not the core audio driver, which must be installed first. You need to get another file for that: http://tascam.com/products/FW-1884/softwar...4_osx_1_1_0.hqx I have a FW-1884 with Logic 6.3.3 on Mac OS X 10.3.2, so let me know if you need more help. Ben |
