I just recently returned to Macintosh from the darkside and want to start using it with my 1991 Yamaha SY77. Yes, it's old, but still working fairly well. Is there any software that can import and allow me to assign voices & edit the old (K&T) formats? Also, what (if any) software would be best to hook the SY77 directly up to my iMac for recording, etc.?

Thanks!

for editing your sy77 patches etc you can try emagic's sounddiver. theres a beta version for osx available here: http://www.emagic.de/support/download/soun...erX.php?lang=EN

as for recording to your imac... you might want to think about what audio interface you are interested in first... then once you find a suitable interface that meets your budget... then consider software because many times the interface will work best with a particular type of recording app such as one made by same company such as MOTU 828 probably works best with Digital Performer although it will work for many other apps too but the audio interface should be the thing you look for first unless you already know what software you want then you look for interface that works well with the software cool.gif
