currently i have a g4 powermac (867) with 3 slots for ram, 1X512 & 2X256 (1gig total)... now, is it worth it for me to buy 2X512 to upgrade to 1.5gigs??? i'd have to get rid of the 2X256's... $300-$350CDN is a lot for a modest speed bump no???
what would you do? put the $$ towoards a G5 for the future?? thx. |

What are you doing with your G4 right now? And the OS you're running?

With the little you've included (not a bust on you, really), an extra half gig of RAM will add a marginal increase in speed in either OS 9 or X.
Considering that the trade-in value of your machine is around $700 or so, it's your call. If your're considering upgrading in the next year, it may be better to make due unless you have a performance issue that is RAM related. Jeff |
