I have an old, analog 4-track recorder with four outputs, and I want to digitize all four tracks onto my Mac in such a way that the four tracks remain distinct, so that I can do some digital editing and cleanup of the individual tracks before I mix them on the computer.

I bought a Delta 66 soundcard, but I need some software. Could somebody recommend a good application that could do the job?

(Note: I already have old copies of Deck II and SoundEdit 16, but they don't seem up to the four-simultaneous-input task, as far as I can tell.)

I use Digital Performer with the OmniStudio/Delta 66, but that's a $6-700 program (more than worth it, in my opinion). Pro Tools has a free version of their software that lets you record up to 8-tracks. That might be a good place to get started. Cubase and Logic are both popular but I haven't used those to say one way or another.

The Free Protools, as every free software is not compatible with ASIO Audio Cards, but only with soundmanager !
So with the Delta 66, you need a real audio software, and you can buy cheaper verrsion of Logic or Cubase
