Hi everybody

Does someone know how to factory reset a EPS16+ ?

I dont know if it's the right way to proceed, but as these machines are rare here in France, it's difficult to find schematics or technicians, so any trick will be welcome.

What happens is: since the key has been exposed to electric interruption, and back, without power button pushed to off (am I clear ?), it is difficult to boot and sometimes shows:"error 137, reboot?" messages.

I have read that this kind of message is a sequencer error, but what's funny is that I dont use the internal sequencer anymore, because I use this keyboard mostly to learn piano curses...

To have to reboot 20 times before get it steady and be able to load a piano sound is not the best way to concentrate on music and relax arms rolleyes.gif soon my brain will need a factory reset too !

Anyway, happy new year to every macmusician rockin all over the world. wub.gif

i have used ensoniq for a long time. still use an asr-10 and my friend uses the eps 16+.

i might be wrong, but i don't think that you can do a factory reset of an eps. the reason being is that the sampler loads the OS from floppy not from rom. the eps is useless without the OS. Until the OS is loaded the effects and everything is usless. I can get you a copy of a new OS disk. Maybe that might help you.
give me an email and we will talk about it.

I will help you anyway i can. caio, Jeremy

You can get the latest os, 1.3, from E-mu website.

Check their f.a.q:s to see if anything might have a bearing on your problem.

thanks, dixie and brain.
I already have OS 1.3

If it's not an OS or rom problem, it's something wrong with the power supply, that can be reset too as I was told
