I tried downloading the new Tascam UB (v.3.40) drivers for the most excellent US-428, by clicking the link provided by MacMusic, and got an empty page.
Blame it on my G5 still running OSX 10.4.11, or whatever, but I found a WORKING LINK at:
http://nav.440network.com/out.php?mmsc=forums&url=http://www.tascam.com/products/us-428;9,15,138,19.html
Enjoy.

Agree the Tascam 428 as most excellent. Interesting to know why tascam have discontinued it. I am concerned as to overload in live recording with multiple audio (into Logic Studio) .. as the Tascam is only USB 1 feeding a USB 2 port. any suggestions for optimizing.
Also .. running 10.4.10 ... on a Macbook. The Intel driver works with no hassles.

I wouldn't worry about overloading the USB1/USB2 connection. I think USB1 can handle the limited number of audio streams that TASCAM designed into the US-428.
Logic works fine with it, but I still don't think that Digital Performer has a complete Unversal Binary implimentation for the US-428. http://en.440forums.com/forums/style_images/en/folder_post_icons/icon10.gif
