For recording where a silence is golden, the whole point of the D2 is it's fanless design...

i am sorry about my previous post. i have a lacie d2 1 tb model which is noisy as........... noisy!!!! i was not familiar with the model which you are referring to which is supposedly "noiseless".

No worries : ) So, the small single drives are fanless, but your 1TB (which I guess has two drives in it) is noisy... Sorry to hear that (no pun intended : )
