I have audio tracks in a file in Logic Pro. They have no effects on them. I would like to make a CD of WAV files so my friend can mix the tracks in ProTools. Can anyone explain to me in detail how to do that? Thanks in advance!

A fellow musician wants to see if I can improve audio tracks his band recorded in Cubase SX. He has a CD with the WAV files of each of 12 audio tracks. First question - Could someone tell me how to open his files and then import them into Logic Pro so that his tracks 1-12 correspond to my audio tracks 1-12 and be in sync?

Second question - assuming I can get his tracks going what are the key ways to boost volume or "master" his tracks so that the end result, a stereo mix, is loud vibrant and "radio ready"?

I'm familiar with the mastering plug ins on the output channels of Logic. I've used "Soft Maximizer" but it seems to be compression related. Are these "rooms", available on the output channels, the only way to increase volume and aliveness?

He's doing this because the studio he's at can't seem to make a mix that he's happy with. He says the mixes lack volume and vibrancy. Thanks in advance.

I currently use Logic 7.2.1. When I open a new Logic file I often go to the "Audio"/"Loop browser" and drag in a drum loop to track to. I have the Apple "Jam Pack" Rhythm section plug in and I imagine that is where alot of the drum loops come from. But I think some come from Garage Band as well. Well anyhow the drum loop sounds clean, uneffected, and as if you were standing right there in the room where the drummer played.

If I close the file and start another one then go to the Loop Browser the drum loops now sound as if they were put through a "tape delay" or "hollow" effect. Keep in mind that I have no effects on this new file yet. The track that I drag the drum loop to is clean. Many times it is a new file I've just started and other times I'm opening an existing file but again I can find no "delay" settings on any tracks or the output or the inputs.

If I close Logic, the application, completely and then reopen it and then open a file the drums go back to being pristine and uneffected. This is similar to a transpose glitch I have where Midi instrument tracks come up transposed but when I close Logic and reboot the track is in tune again.

Any ideas?

I have a bunch of tracks on my Roland 1680 Hard Disk Recorder that I want in Logic. Can anyone tell me how to synchronize or Midi the Hard Disk recorder to Logic? I've tried and failed. I don't know if there's a Audio Midi setting I'm missing or a tempo issue... I don't know which one to set as the Master and which one to set as Slave.

I want to be able to send tracks from the Roland two at a time into Logic (I only have two inputs on my converter).

If anyone was willing to give a detailed "how to" I would greatly appreciate it.

Two of the sounds I have not enough of are bass and drums. I prefer natural sounding drums and drum loops like those in the Apple Loop browser. Unfortunately there is not enough to pick from. There are many techno/digital sounding drums and basses but the natural kits and loops are what I like.

As far as basses go, same thing, I like natural electric and acoustic and fretless basses. I have Jam Packs "Rhythm Section" but there simply is not enough choices of real bass and drums.

Any ideas on the best plug ins for bass and drums?
