Hey everyone!, I have a quick question and would like some serious advice.
I currently own a Powerbook G4 667, with 1gb ram. I plan on adding a firewire HD + firewire interface to it for recording.
Now heres the problem, I would like to know what the 'specs' or 'audio specs' this system can push through. I'm not looking for CRAZY intensity, but I would need a decent system.
I could trade this for a single 1ghz G4 powermac. Then I would have to get a pci card, more ram, a seperate hd, and etc.
I just would like to know what you guys think, and what could be done with a laptop such as mine, I would be using Logic Platinum.
Thanks so much, advice would be required soon, since people are requesting my laptop, but I am contemplating on whether I should keep it, or get rid of it... it's a great machine, but will it be able to handle?
Most of the things I would be doing would be hip-hop producing, and recording bands of 4 (drums, bass, guitar, mics)
Thanks soo much!
Hey everyone, I just purchased a 667mhz Tibook, with the 30gb hd, and the 32 mb radeon card, so its not the older 667. Now my question is, i want to use it for recording pretty much, and I have a desktop, but all i want, and all i need, is an interface that provides me with adat.....8in/8out.....or maybe more , if its only adat? I dont need analouge out, everything is going directly to a Tascam DM24 digital mixer. or also if it has a headphone input so i can mix with low-latency on the go? A midi interface would be nice, but im sure a usb one would work fine.... but those are the main things, id like it to have adat so i can use it while in the studio, and a headphone output, with eith whatever logic or cubase (asio) supports so i can monitor and edit things as i go along. Whether is firewire or usb? I'm not sure? but i think firewire would be the better choice? Post your opinions, and if it works with osX , which will be the audio OS soon enough, that would be cool too, thanks = )
I just want to add this topic so people who successfully use a Titanum Powerbook can tell me what kind of performance they get with it. I'm looking into buying the 800mhz one, as I want to use it not for RECORDING, I do that on a desktop, but I want to edit and use some plugs and do most of the editing on the powerbook g4. Add any info you have on the powerbook and your uses and performance of it..
Thanks In Adavance, r a ts pg ; )
