As our Member Celmo did the jump :
Protools TDM 6.9.2 runs ok in 10.4.1, alongside Logic 7.1 (10.4.1 is for Logic, PT is ok in 10.4)
Apple updateProAppRuntime done and mandatory
MTP drivers run ok
Canopus ADVC 100 ok
The drivers of his HP printer needed to be reinstalled
Audio apps are FASTER
Enjoy!
Hope that doesn't mean bpm-faster
Latest news from Celmo, love, happiness and free beer
Note: he backed up then upgraded his Panther to Tiger.
By faster, he means way more responsive.
http://nav.440network.com/out.php?mmsc=forums&url=http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/proapplicationsupport30macosx104.html, you need it for Logic, FCP among others.
I will ask him.
Sophia tried the jump, and it's not so sweet for her… I'll ask her to come here too.
[edit]
Celmo's mac:
1st generation G5 dual 2 GHz, RAM Apple 2 GB, HD SATA Seagate. 2 screens + a plasma on the Canopus card, PT HD3 with an expansion 13 slots. An RME card (both audio engines at the same time). About 15 FW drives on 3 hubs on too. A SCSI tower and the internal server running all the time. All softwares are legit of course.
Sophia 's troubles: (digest)
G5, HD Accel 3, Motu 828mkII.
TDM and native at the same time, no ESB.
Logic 7.1 TDM still crashes after the ProAppRuntime update
MidiOverLan works
AU validation is not great, SOStrings ok, not SOPercussion
MX4 ok, not Intakt
Hi Guys,
It was a bit dodgy when opening Logic TDM for the first time.
Actually, Logic would not open,
So I installed ProAppRuntime Tiger, and on the next try, Logic did open.
Guys at Emagic say it is not a necessary update, but well, may be it helped.
Logic now seems to behave quiet like before, I need yo push it in order to see what's going on.
It just looks like the same usual crashes are still here ( was on 7.1 before tiger )
Logic and HD are not the best Friends.
I will keep you posted.
Best
Sophia:
Bummer, here is another problem.
NAtive Instruments
Logic 7.1. compatibility
Logic 7.1 uses the latest Apple Audo Units validation tool introduced by Tiger. The following Audio Units plugins currently do not pass the AU validation process:
BATTERY 2
INTAKT
Garritan Personal Orchestra
Zero-G Analogue Sequencer Loops
Zero-G Beats Working In Cuba
Eastwest RA
Eastwest Colossus
Bigfish London Solo Strings
Bigfish First Call Horns
Bigfish Raging Guitars
Tapspace Virtual Drumline 2
Bestservice Latin World
Future Loops
CM Session
I am adding Percussion adventures 2
Overdrive did the plunge :
10.4.1
G5 2x2,5
4 GB Ram
8 HD FW400
4 HD FW 800
PT HD3
ADVC 100
loads of plugs and virtual instruments
and not a problem
Lepetitmartien, I saw in one of your posts in another thread, that PT LE would be at least 4 weeks away. Is that something you know for a fact, or is it speculation? Need to know, just bought a used dual 1.8 G5 with tiger installed, and am wondering wether I should install panther on it or if I should wait.
It kinda sucks installing panther if PT LE Tiger is coming the day after :/
There was a news on the releases dates 2 or 3 weeks ago…
(based on the official PR from Digidesign of course)
If you NEED to work with it, use the trick to install a panther and go, if you can wait, wait. It'll be less bothersome and you'll know your system is dead clear before installing.
