We have Digital Performer 4.1 in OsX and a bunch of GIGA, Halion, and Sample Cell CD's we would like to use in Perfomer.

What sample playback program shoudl we use? We tried Halion1.1 and it was useless. We tried MachFive and I'm still fighting with it. The main problem is that MachFive doesn't seem to translate the Sample Cell BANKS (instruments & samples, yes, but not the actual bank), and it doesn't seem to fully translate our fancy Grandioso Bosendorfer 290 GIGA piano soundbank.

Is there something else to try? KONTACT? Unity? What else?

Has anyone used MachFive that my have some advice. We'd like to stick with machFive if we can possibly get it to translate our GIGA & SampleCell banks properly. We've all but given up on the Halion stuff.

HELP!!!!!

Kontakt will be available soon for OS X (as version 1.5) and is the most powerful software sampler available.
It can read and translate GIGA files though not samplecell (I don't think).

You may find that a program such as translator may do a better job at converting formats.
http://chickensys.com/translator/
It will soon support GIGA->Kontakt conversion.
Alternatively CDXtract

check out supported formats

Neither CDXtract or Translator convert to MachFive format yet however they can translate to a format such as EXS24 that MachFive may be able to read better.
