When I purchased my MOTU 828 Firewire sys., I received Audiodesk instead of Digital Performer. I am looking for a good source of, here's the rub, affordable -- effects plugins.

Any suggestions? I'm a blues musician, so cost is a factor.

Audio Desk is a DP without MIDI. There are enough plug ins to get you going already.
If you want more you have to buy a VST wrapper (Audio Ease, Pluggo...), so you can use a lot of free VST plug ins.
But remember Audio Desk doesn't do MIDI, any VSTi would be useless. smile.gif

I really don't use anything midi. My band is a Chicago/Memphis style blues band, and everything we record is powered by flesh and blood. (Hope that didn't sound arrogantly melodramatic!)

But, I need to find some way to bring the levels up on the master end of things. If I buy a CD from the store and place it in my cd player, put the volume on 4, it's plenty loud. But, if I take one I've bounced-to-disc, then burned (Toast Titanium), and place it in the CD player, set the volume to 4, it's not as loud. Any suggestions?

I guess Audio Desk doesn't come with MasterWorks, so use Dynamic instead.
Dynamic is a plug in that has compressor, limiter & gate.
It works great, really.

Most MAS plug ins are MIDI controllabled (except DC notch), you can use it for automate mixing.
