firstly, sorry for this nerdy thread! i've used macs' for almost 15 years, i never, before today, bought a 3rd party mouse! i just bought a macally optical mouse with three programmable buttons and a scroll wheel(that can open my browser etc by depressing it). now i truly understand pc users' scorn re the apple mouse! i've had 2 apple pro mice die on me within a 12 month period due to bad design, this time i chose a 3rd party mouse. consequently, i spend about 50% less time clicking on my screen, scrolling, launching apps etc. i depress the scroll wheel to open my browser, scroll pages/windows with the wheel, have assigned my most laboriously repetitive keyboard commands to button presses. it's a whole new world! this is a boring post, but nowhere near as boring as using an apple mouse! make your next mouse purchace an intelligent mouse, seems like nothing but is effectively substantial advice ...
hi everybody, a mate of mine has told me that he's having strange problems trying to sync logic 5.4 on os 10.2 to a sony oxford with a unitor8. anybody else having these kind of problems? any help will be appreciated. i haven't tried this myself but i know it's costing him a lot of money in the meantime. cheers guys...
smooth, as you would expect. nice new touches with the graphics. evb3 p!$$€s on b4! reorganisation of menus that makes sense. MORE new plugs. never crashes well, not yet! re-sizeable windows. rewire, rex, omf, akai, and rocket, kind of soon. no sound diver yet! new, hierarchical reorganisation of key files. e.g, preferences, song settings, apple menu items, etc, due of course to osx transition. for tc/uad users, not looking great at the moment(i've posted in their forums). currently more compatible with 10.1.5 than 10.2!!? very few compatible audio drivers. NO d@mn vst support/developement evident(i.e: useable!) as yet... r.s.v.p.
You might have heard that Emagic released Logic for Mac OS X yesterday. And you might have heard that, under OS X, Logic will be supporting Audio Unit plugins but not VST plugins. And then after hearing that, you might have started wondering whether Destroy FX plugins will be reborn as Audio Units. In order to avoid such needless worry, we are writing a little message to you just to tell you that we will be making Audio Unit versions of all of our plugins as soon as possible. And for those of you now worrying that maybe we won't make VST versions anymore, we have message part 2: We will keep making VST versions for Mac and Windows, at least for as long as it makes sense (i.e Mac OS 9 will eventually be quite obsolete for musicians, and VST plugins for OS X might not be necessary, but we shall wait and see). Marc and Tom Destroy FX Headquarters, USA are these guys cool or what? they sent me this email on the 3rd!
oh my god, i've just left hammerfalls' website... i just downloaded the first osx audio driver... hold it, i have to sit down for a minute, get my breath back. check it out guys, it's a beta at the moment, but promises to work with non-hammerfall kit. now, if only i could install logic5 on x/classic...... can someone get me a glass of water? i feel faint.
