Eq'ing A Section Of Audio In Cubase Se?

I got used to using WaveLab on a friend's PC for stereo mastering, but now I'm attempting to use Cubase SE. The problem is, if I'm trying to eq only a section of audio (i.e., one or two tracks in a dj mix), I don't really see any way to apply a VST eq and process just that one section.

Mastering: Peak, T-racks, Or Other?

I'm currently using Cubase SE as my sequencer and I'm wondering which is more flexible for mastering...Bias Peak LE or just bouncing the mix down to a stereo .wav and using something like T-Racks in Cubase?

I'm open to other options, as well.

How To Set Default Import For .wav?

Whenever I put a CD-R in my G4, it reads the files as .aiff, and I would prefer to import them as .wav files. I went ahead and imported a bunch of samples off a CD-R when I saw that I'm supposed to be able to use .aiff in Reason, but when I tried to use them, I got an error message in the Reason sample browser saying the file format wasn't supported.

Anyone Using Cubase Se W/ Motu 2408mkii?

I recently picked up a G4 733 MHz on eBay and then got a 2408mkII (w/ the PCI-424 card) pretty cheap from a friend who was moving. I need a fairly simple sequencer w/ VST support and it looks like SE would be about right, but I can't seem to find out whether or not it will work with the 2408.

Digi 001 And Le 6.9?

I recently picked up a G4 w/ a Digi 001 on eBay. I haven't hooked up the Digi001 yet, but I noticed the version of PTLE the G4 is on is 6.9 It seems I read somewhere that 6.4 is the highest you can go with the 001? Since the PCI card was not installed in the G4, I'm thinking maybe the owner had moved on to a Digi002.

Also, someone told me OSX 10.3.9 is also the highest you can go with the 001...can anyone verify this?
