Hey people..

I have been deejaying with vinyl records for over 12 years and recently I upgraded my mixer to a Denon DN-X600 two channel mixer with digital effects and midi-capabilities.

It is as solid and well constructed as any mixer I have ever used, and I believe I made the right choice in my purchase. My concern is it that it isn't going to get used to it's full capabilities. It comes with more digital interoperability than I know what to do with - this is where I hoped you guys could help?

Reading over the posts on this forum it seems there is a lot of combined musical knowledge and understanding here! I got very little response from the Denon DJ Forums, so here goes...

Here is what I want to be able to do -

Record Mixes using USB connectivity (I can do this already with Garageband - I run Mac OSX and ideally was looking for one piece of software to cater for this, and the following...

Play Digital Music Files using a Digital Vinyl System (using timecoded vinyls) - I am told that Traktor won't work unless I run windows parallel on my Mac. Are there any other software programmes which will do this job without the need for windows?

Finally, some software (ideally one which can also handle the above tasks) which can send sound effects / samples to the mixer so that they appear over the top of channels 1 and 2...

Thanks in advance cool.gif

I don't know why you would need Windows, Traktor is Mac compatible.

It supports .aiff, to save your mix in .aiff from Garageband under the share menu do a Save To Disk, and disengage the compress button. That will export the file at full resolution to the location of your choice.

The online help of any Apple app IS the manual, use it at will!
