Hello - tried my luck on the other forums. G4 power mac 466mhz, 512 MB RAM running logic pro, stylus etc, blah, blah

I get excellent use out of Logic, hours at a time etc but EVERY time (after I've closed and saved all my work) I quit the application it freezes/crashes maybe 10 seconds later, before I can even think about shutting down. In fact I have to wait for it to freeze, press the restart button and wait for the computer to boot up again before I can shut down. This is really bad new for my equipment surely? It seems like the problem is guaranteed to happen if I have been using midi previously. I've also had message errors indicating an internal data loop - is this midi trouble too?

Someone help - please!!? Extensions conflict - maybe, I dont know??!! sad.gif

Have an Ibook with OSX and its' supplied OSX software and installation disks...can I install OSX from those disks to work on my G4 powermac? Thus making my system more efficient to run logic 6.

Have just bought & installed Logic 6 Pro on my G4 Mac 466mHz 256 mb ram, OS9.

Logic itself is running fine and giving me results but everytime I quit the application, 8 times out of 10 the Finder will 'unexpectedly quit' and suggest that I restart the computer after which it will usually crash or freeze.

I have tried trashing the Finder prefs (the right way), the logic prefs and pruning my extensions and also removing any illegal plug-ins I may have collected in the past.

Also - is it more desirable to use Emagic's Logic mididriver as opposed to an OMS based setup? Sharper midi timekeeping/latency?

Many thanks for ANY replies smile.gif
