Im running Cubase SX 1.06, AL powerbook 15in 512mb ram, stock sound, oxygen8 controller.
When using no more than Kontakt (3 sample sets), absynth and the AB-1 synth in cubase, I get VST performance spikes which causes cubase to crackle and carry on.
Should I be able to run more than this? like when it doesnt spike, vst performance sits at about 40% mark then just spikes heaps and crackles. What are the buffer settings I should be running in SX? Are there any other setting that would help this? Would a better soundcard fix this? any help would be great, im kinda new to macs.
Im not too sure what the plugin/vsti is but it basically freezes the audio and makes sound vocoded or something, not so much vocoded but it like when you get 2 seconds of audio then extend the lenght of it by like 10 seconds while preserving the pitch and creates this warped sound. anyone know what can do this?
thanks.
running powerbook g4 1ghz 512mb ram OSX 10.3 cubase SX 1.501 with standard core audio card in laptop using m-audio oxygen to trigger.
On a bass sample set, when certain notes are triggered the vst CPU usage spikes all of the sudden, its intermittent but quite annoying. do samples from kontakt get loaded into the ram? it doesnt spike the cpu all the time but when it does it crackles but when it doesnt it hovers at about 30% with 3 racks loaded into kontakt! idealy what should i have the buffer set at in the vst multitrack options? what else could be causing this? any help would be fantastic! thanks!
