I'm such a beginner! I can't get any output from the external speakers on my mac g4 10.4.11 using garageband and my tascam 122l. I can record without the output and save and the track and play it in I tunes, but I can't add a track while listening to the recorded track on the external speakers in garageband. When I choose monitor "on" it doesn't recognize the output volume. I'm such a beginner. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the try! But still doesn't work. I think I've missed something simple.

Advise: You will probably have to install the Tascam Quebasis LE software (free with the gadget) before all the drivers are properly installed, then run GarageBand and see if it works (both programs loaded and running, probably).

Anyway, I know for sure that in order to get these "esoteric" Digital to Analog Interfaces (DAC) to work, you DO have to install the stuff that came with the gadget, first, then run GarageBand on top of it all ... biggrin.gif

Thanks so much, Fast Eddy. I'll give it a shot.
