Uh oh...
Firstly, I am a novice and have inherited this Mac which is great and all but....
I have a G4 dual processor with a mirrored RAID drive. Disc Utility says that it's status is "Degraded". Both drives that make up the RAID set also show their status as "Degraded". Am I screwed? Can I fix this and how?

Thanks

jfitz,

mann0 has sent you this email from http://www.macmusic.org/agora/forums/index.php.

Dear

I am Barrister J.Jackson, Solicitor and Financial Attorney I am the personal Attorney to Late ANDRE MCGOVERN, a native of your country and a contractor with Teaser Petroleum Corporation in Dakar-Senegal. Here in after referred to as my client.

On the 21st of April 2000, my client, his wife and their three children where involved in a car accident along grand Dakar express road and all occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost their lives. Since then, several enquires to your embassy to locate any of my client?s extend relatives has also proved unsuccessful. Hence, after these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to track his last name over the Internet, to locate any of his family hence I contacted you.

I am contacting you to assist in repatriating the money (U.S$20.5m) left behind by my late client before they declared unclaimed by the bank where this money was lodged. As his personal Attorney, the Bank where this fund! was lodged has instructed and notified me to provide the next of kin to the deceased, or they send the fund to their treasury as unclaimed fund within the next twenty-one official working days.

Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relative for over 2 years now. I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased, since you have the same last name with him so that the proceeds of this account valued U.S$20.5million would be paid to you as the next of kin to the deceased and for us to share.

I will get all the necessary legal documents that can be used to back up the claim. All I require from you is honesty and good co-operations to enable us see this deal through. I guarantee you that this transaction will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect us from any breach of the law. Please get in touch with me via my Email address to enable us discuss further on this matter, also send to me you private telephone ! number and contact address. Awaiting your response.

Best Regards,

Bar.Jackson

Well, I've inherited a G4 w/ a 149 GB Raid drive, and I'm going to try to put together a small recording system bit by bit. The Mac hard drive is only 17 GB. I am intending to use LOGIC 6 Gold. I will be recording live sound as well as midi.

Can I use the RAID drive to advantage, or if not can I reconfigure it as individual drives?

I am really a novice and need some advice here.

Thanks and
PAX

Howdy,
I'm interested in notating music first off. Saving time in transposition and reworking tunes, mostly jazz oriented. I will want to play stuff in on a keyboard I expect. I want to set up a system that's got enough power/flexibility to do some live instrument recording ultimately, but my first need is the composition/notation thang. I've got about $1500 to spend and I have nothing now. I was thinking of getting a reconditioned mac configured for the aforemention tasks and some notation software, most of which comes w/ a bit of sequencing I hear.

Any ideas about this here plan would be appreciated.
Thanks
