I have just got my first laptop, a Powerbook 3400, and I am struggling to set up a serial MIDI connection to drive a Yamaha MU10 sound module. My operating system is OS9.1, but the discs are actually for an imac, and I have installed and set up OMS, and have bought a copy of Qmidi which works fine with the internal sounds, but I cant get it to communicate via the serial port. I think I've missed something vital in the powerbooks serial setup. I am experienced with PC MIDI setups, and have hopefully covered the obvious pitfalls, but I think my inexperience with Mac systems is the problem. Any help or suggestions gratefully received. Thank you
