Hi to everybody!!

I would like to buy a Powerbook G4 cause I am really hating PC's. Windows is always failing and getting virus. Moreover, the design of the Mac's is amazing and the platform is....I don't have words. My problem is that I should finish my degree in Engineering in Spain (my country) and there are some programs unavailable for Mac's (as AUTOCAD LT,etc). And some others, which my university provides you with for free, are only for PC's (as MATLAB, I know that there is a MATLAB version for Mac's but is it for free??. I guess it is not). So, I would like to know if the Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac's would run an AUTOCAD,MATLAB or HYSYS well (of course not too slowly). I would like to hear opinions of people with experience in this issue. Could anybody help me? sad.gif

Thanks,

Pepita

Hi pepita,

I'm using the virtual PC on my G5 and it is very slow, because the system allows only a small workspace for PC-Using. I use the PC only for some programms I cannot open on the Mac, so it's fine with me, but really work with, I wouldn't. This is my experience and others maybe got better ones, or I'm not able to fix the virtual PC on a better standing.

Anyway, if you have the possibility, try it out for yourself.
