hi everybody,

i want DSP mixer to work together with DSP effects.

MOTU does not have onboard effects, so i think to get TC electronic PowerCore Compact for ffx. I have iMac G5 and going to connect both devices thru FireWire.
Pleace advise is it possible to them to work together? For example i can route a signal from Logic to MOTU and send/return it to PowerCore for ffx, than back to MOTU and mix many such channels in MOTU?

Before i worked on PC with Logic and soundcard Mixtreme (by Soundscape), wich had DSP mixer with FFX (eqs, compressors, an even powerfull Wave Mechanics reverb!). I like the idea, that Logic handles many synthesithers and audio (like recorded vocal or instruments), send them separately into soundcard, and the soundcard work as proper multichannel mixer with ffx. Now i'm switching into Mac. I want the same solution running by FireWire!!!

Another solution can be Metric Halo Mobile I/O 2882 + DSP (the only FireWire interface with onboard FFX), but it dosn't have Reverbs, which are very important for any good mix.

Please advise. Peace.

Before you buy, check out the unofficial Powercore users forum:

http://www.powercore.noheaven.com/

Regardless of what TC claims, there *are* users who are having real problems using the Compact or the Firewire with MOTU Firewire interfaces (they can't use both at the same time). I use a MOTU PCI-424 with a Powercore Firewire so I'm not affected by this.

There's always another side to every story...

Kind regards.
