Anyone really into hardware, please tell me if a dual or single CPU g5 will be able to support dozens of virtual synths at once with decent or no latency?
I would like to think it could handle massive amounts of Reaktor, Oddity or Moog Modular.
The more technical the answer the better. I know that the bus speed going from (my g4) 133 to 800-900 or 1000 mhz has to help quite a bit.

What hardware would I need to connect a 867 quicksilver g4 to a PC w/usb dsl and share the connection.
I was thinking I could get an airport base station and a PC version 802.11g usb wireless ...
Please let me know.
Scotty
In the next few days my first Apple will arrive: 867 single quicksilver 1.12G Ram 60g HD Radeon 9000 pro 15" Apple LCD (till I can afford the 23) I was hoping to move to Digital Performer 4 w/Peak 3.0(4.0 whens it out). My studio consists of Akai MPC2000xl controlling Nord Lead Rack 2 Access Virus A Emu Morpheus Akai s5000 into Allen & Heath wz20s mixer with TL Audio 5051 valve processor and DeltaLab Effectron III (also a low end reverb I am going to sell) I have playing around with breaks and filtery analog and want to have a ton of control for the studio bits as well as a way to cut up bits to make my own loops. I have a lot of tracker experience. Any advice on good software to get for sound design and MAS plugins, even Softsynths. Who knows... Scott
