Seems like it's been very quiet on the MOTU web site considering they are suppose to be releasing the OS X compatible version in November. Has anyone heard any reliable news as to their plans? I have been waiting since July (when I bought my new Mac G4) for DP - seems like a long wait for no announcements to date. Since we're all hungry for what they say they will make available, is the waiting going to pay out soon?
I have a new Mac G4 tower running OS9.2 and Jaguar. I installed the Audiophile 2496 sound card to allow midi communication between the Mac and my digital piano, but have run into a huge dilemma - there is an "echoing" or "looping" sound when playing the piano in it's "performance/concert" mode (meaning the midi mode is not active). In order to break the "looping", I have to unplug one midi cable either from the piano or the computer. There must be a better solution somewhere - the techs at M-Audio have not been helpful with suggestions, so am hoping to get some input from this forum. As soon as Digital Performer for OS 10.2 is released, it will be on my wish list, but at the moment there isn't any sequencing software on the Mac. I'm hoping DP might provide the solution to this looping sound in the concert piano mode, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any suggestions? Midiman is not OS 10.2 compatible, is Fastlane? It has an on/off switch that might provide the solution .... maybe. Any thoughts/ideas out there? Thank you
I've been watching and waiting, but still no "date" set for the release of Digital Performer to companion Jaguar and my new Mac G4 Tower. Would anyone know a more specific time than "in the Fall"? Thanks
I've just purchased a dual 1.5GB G4 tower. With this powerful computer, I still seem to have to do all my midi work in OS 9.2 using the old thecnology of the OMS set up. Is there any hope for OS X to be able to work midi programs? I understand that Digital Performer (available in September) will be able to work in OS X - what drivers will it use to work with midi files?
