Hi, I am just about to buy an MBox 2 for recording some voiceovers.

My idea is that I will record at home and do the main editing there. However if I then want to use my other computer at work - to do some tweaking later on will the mbox 2 have to be connected in order to use pro tools lite. ie will i have to bring the mbox 2 into work.

thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question.

Pro Tools software will not boot unless it detects digidesign hardware.

I also didn't want to carry around the MBox2 so . . I bought a VERY small M-Audio Transit interfase (us $99) and use it on my work computer and always keep in my laptop bag.
The problem is that you have to pay another $ 250 for M-Powered Protools.
I think it's worth it just because the light weight and also that I get things done . .

Cheers
