I would just add that since this utility only scans for files with audiofile-endings it is quite useless to me as I have most of my old files without such .aif endings and the like. Please enlighten me if I have missed out on something here, but isn´t this a major flaw?

You are 100% wrong. The manual clearly states it *does* scan files without file extensions. Under the Scanner menu you have to turn on "Use Slower Maximum Scan" This feature will look inside every file and decide if it is a sound or not. It is off by default, because it takes a lot of time to open every file on your computer and look in it. It will find everything, even sounds in app bundles. This is documented in the Manual. Please do due dilligence before you make false assertations.
