Musicians / Composers

How do I write this without sounding pretentious? Basically I love writing and performing music on as many different instruments and in as many different styler as I can. Someday wouldn't mind making a living out of it...

Everyone's been complaining ('The Logic 7 Shaft') but I've just found an upgrade from LE6 or Big Box to LE7 for £70 at this reputable UK site:

There's also an upgrade for Pro users for £200:

Planning to upgrade the 256MB of RAM in my 1GHz G4 PB in order to run Logic Express. I can get an extra 512 for £70, or extra 1000 for £300 from crucial.com i.e. 512 MUCH better vaue. What would you recommend?
Finally - anyone know if LE7 is much more demanding (CPU/RAM wise) than LE6? Concerned LE7 might be slow like Garageband and I don't really need the whole GB Loops thing.

Thanks

I'm concerned that Logic Express 7 might put too much demand on my system (G4 Powerbook 1GHz, about to upgrade to either 768 or 1256MB of RAM running Jaguar) seeing how even Garageband can be slow at times. Logic Express 6 would be adequate for me but I wondered if anyone knew where I'd be able to obtain a discounted one?

Thanks

Does anyone have any experience with this interface? On the surface it looks pretty good, and competitively priced.
In particular can anyone compare it with the M-Audio FW410?

Cheers

Does anyone have any experience of recording with the new Microkorg synth?
I am hoping to get an analogue-modelling synth to be used both for recording and live use/jamming. I have played the Microkorg in a shop a few times and think the sounds are superb as well as its portability and basic vocoder. I know it can also be used as a MIDI controller which I may find useful with soft synths as my current MIDI keyboard has no knobs to twiddle.
I have also tried the Nord Lead 2 which is just incredible, although much more expensive, and especially loved its portamento and pitch controller. How does this perform in a MIDI set-up? And any idea whether the Microkorg does portamento?

Any help would be much appreciated
