hi- just curious if anybody knows if there are any effects for ProTools Free available for download off the web? i have been looking for 2 days and can't find anything. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Depeneds if you are using mac or PC.

Limewire.com for mac has a user base that you can download directly from the user.

Also try directconnect.com. Similar thing.

For PC, try kazaa.com

I would suggest clicking here for a FAQ from the Digidesign answerbase to see what kinds of plugs you need and then browse through the MacMusic Software section to see if there's anything free there. smile.gif

have digidesign released an OS X version of Protools?
Ive searched the website and can only find reference to the full blown version???

If you're referring to ProTools Free, no they haven't, and I don't believe they've even announced plans to do so yet. However, ProTools LE for OSX is available (not sure if this is what you meant by the "full blown" version).

Yeah i was refering to protools free, i hate to sound like a cheap ass but ive jus spent heaps on upgrading to OS X and getting some sound modules etc! i would love to be able to spend more and get some decent software but as note above money has just run out

No prob... If you can swing another $70, you might want to check out Metro 6 SE - probably the least expensive way to get set up in OSX.
