I'm planning on investing in a Gigastudio to house my sample library. I'd like to get some input from current users regarding the advantages and disadvantages of different configurations, i.e. what are the pros and cons of a dedicated server vs. running the software on another user pc? 2 gigs of RAM on the controlling machine can sustain 20 gigs of samples on the server, but what are the effects of the servers RAM on latency, etc.? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does this exist? I want to compose an adaptive score for my multimedia demo CD, but I've yet to locate any software that enables interactive control of channel mixing and looping. DirectMusic is the only thing I've heard of, which runs ontop of DirectX which is emulated by MacDx which is unattainable in the commercial realm. Anybody heard of anything? If not, I guess this is a good idea for an ambitious Mac developer.
Is there a way to enable the standard gui (what it's supposed to look like) for vst or au plugins using Audacity? Normally I don't care about the gui as long as the plugin does its job. However, I just downloaded Neodynium AU and it displays off the bottom of the screen and therefore I can't click on any buttons to apply the effects. There are a couple other plugins that do this too. Anyone found a fix for this problem with Audacity's plugin display gui? Maybe I just need a taller monitor
