The best FL replacement I've come across so far is Tracktion from Raw Material Software. It's slightly harder than FL to initially learn to use (though there is an excellent help function) but seems (from my limited testing of the demo version) to be a flexible cross between FL and a traditional sequencer, and it's just as easy to create loops from scratch without a keyboard once you know how. The only downside is that the OS X version is still only a beta, but at least it's available for the Mac (unlike FL) and is cheap.
