Redskins Vs. Colts - Studs and Duds In what was one of the worst home opener performances in years Alex Smith Jersey Elite , the Redskins were throttled in all phases of the game Sunday afternoon by the visiting Colts at a half-empty FedEx field. So much for the “Fan Experience” the Skins brass was touting all off-season; there was hardly anyone there to see it. This game resembled more of a Pitt home game that the season opener for the Burgundy and Gold. Hopefully the 25 fans in attendance got their bellies stuffed with that GREAT new menu of over-priced food items, and at least they got to see free fireworks - although NONE were produced by the home team!Below are my Studs and Duds for the game. Studs:Chris Thompson - The guy was taking an absolute beating underneath on the short passes - yet he hauled them all in, popped up off the ground, and kept coming back for more. He truly is our best offensive weapon.D.J. Swearinger - At least one Redskin came to play yesterday afternoon. Swearinger wasn’t perfect, but he was all over the field, and recorded two interceptions off Andrew Luck. The leader of the Redskins defense has been just that so far this season. Mason Foster - The guy was a complete MACHINE! That is all. Matt Ioannidis - Ioan-Man just keeps showing up, and displaying a relentless motor. Two tackles (one for a loss), a sack and two quarterback hits - pretty nice afternoon. Jonathan Allen - Much like Ioannidis, Allen was one of the bright spots on defense. He too showed a relentless motor which produced four tackles and two quarterback hits. His presence was certainly felt in the game. Duds:Alex Smith -This is a case where stats definitely don’t tell the whole story. Captain Check-down made his first appearance of the season, and boy was it in GRAND fashion!Some may call this a bit unfair to label the ultra-conservative Smith as a dud after his offensive line stunk it up, and his receivers failed to get open (yet again) - but all we heard all off-season was how Alex would audible to get the team into the correct looks http://www.washingtonredskinsteamonline.co...ex-smith-jersey , and if how the play broke down, his legs would carry us. Well, NONE of that seemed to happen on Sunday. The offensive redzone woes continued for Gruden again, and much of that blame, as it did when Kirk Cousins was here, falls on the quarterback play. The ENTIRE Redskins Offensive Line - Oh yes, make NO mistake; the entire unit were DUDS! Our All-Pro left tackle - huge DUD. Morgan Moses - awful! Lauvao - complete garbage heap! Scherff and Roullier - they stunk...maybe just not quite as bad as the others; but they stunk none-the-less. Question - how does an NFL offensive line fail to pick up stunts all game WITHOUT making an adjustment? Embarrassing, just plain embarrassing. The Redskins Wide Receivers - Is it just me, or do these guys have serious issues getting open and/or catching the football? Is Alex maybe afraid to take chances with this group? I’m just completely dumbfounded at this point. And Chesson...you HAVE to come back to the football son! Not just stand there and wait for the ball to come to you! They teach you that in Pop Warner! I could probably cut Paul Richardson some slack, as he’s the only one who seems to get more than a yard of separation. Ryan Kerrigan - Talk about a major disappearing act...check your milk cartons folks - has anyone seen Ryan Kerrigan? His stat line for the day...1 tackle!How about his stats so far on the season - 1 tackle!...that’s it!Josh Norman - Someone please remind me again how much we are paying this guy to get abused by T.Y. Hilton? TFF (Tyler Football Focus), had him rated a -2.3 - the lowest of any qualifying corner who played a minimum of 20 snaps. Dustin Hopkins - I’m REALLY getting sick and tired of the missed field goals and fans defending this guy. Even the kicks he makes you have to hold your breath on half of them. Can the team please bring in Dan Bailey (or someone) for a tryout. Jay Gruden (and the rest of the GD coaching staff) - Wow Authentic Matt Ioannidis Jersey , was this embarrassing. You know what’s even more embarrassing? Having to listen to these Gruden pressers after the game. Shut your damn mouth, and FIX the problem! If you can’t, then we need to find someone who can! And Bill Callahan - you’ve been in the league long enough...is it possible for you to make an adjustment so your offensive line can pick up a damn stunt! Manusky - you sucked too. It’s not too hard to realize Josh Norman can’t cover T.Y. Damn Hilton man-on-man! Holy cow, the entire coaching staff should fire themselves!Redskins Fans at the Game - One word - EMBARRASSING! Notes:- I was so sick to my stomach after this performance that I couldn’t force myself to watch it a second time.- Go get Josh Gordon!Redskins release WR Breshad Perriman, Sign RB Kapri Bibbs from practice squad The Redskins are signing running back Kapri Bibbs after releasing wide receiver Breshad Perriman.Bibbs was the odd man out in the RB group after the team added Adrian Peterson following Derrius Guice's season-ending ACL injury. Bibbs gets promoted to the main roster after RB Rob Kelley was placed on IR with a toe injury. The Redskins now have 4 RBs on the 53-man roster.The Redskins have seen enough from WR Breshad Perriman...for now. The former first round pick from the Baltimore Ravens is being released. Pro Football Talk reports he could be brought back in the future. Perriman was signed four days ago along with WR Michael Floyd as the Redskins are dealing with multiple injuries at the position. Washington already placed three WRs on IR (Robert Davis, Cam Sims, and Trey Quinn). Paul Richardson Jr. (shoulder/knee) and Maurice Harris (concussion) are both listed as questionable this week.Jay Gruden had indicated that neither Perriman or Floyd would be active this week, and were cheap signings that allowed the team to see where they stand. Flacco looked sharp as he hit several different targets including Nick Boye, Mark Andrews and John Brown. The best play of the drive was a 29-yard pass on 2nd-and-26 to Brown. Alex Collins was able to push his way into the end zone with a powerful eight-yard run. Flacco continued his strong first half by throwing a touchdown to both John Brown and Michael Crabtree. Baltimore’s defense absolutely dominated the first half with three sacks and interceptions. Buffalo’s offense only gained 33 yards and zero first downs in the first half.Tavon Young had two sacks from the nickel corner position. Terrell Suggs notched a sack as well in the opener of his 16th season. Safety Tony Jefferson caught an interception on a high pass from Nathan Peterman as well. Joe Flacco continued to carve through the Bills defense in the third quarter, this time hitting receiver Willie Snead IV for a touchdown. Rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson was put into game afterwards, with Flacco finishing the day 25/34 for 236 yards and three touchdowns. Flacco did not throw three touchdowns in a single game all of last season. Peterman’s struggles continued as he threw another interception, this time to cornerback Brandon Carr. Peterman was benched for rookie Josh Allen following the interception. Allen was able to lead Buffalo to their only scoring drive of the day, resulting in a field goal. The Ravens defense seemed to take turns sacking the quarterback, totaling a whopping seven. Za’Darius Smith and Young both had two sacks, and Suggs Cheap Ronnie Stanley Jersey , Tim Williams and Kenny Young all had one.Kenneth Dixon ran hard to put the game away, rushing for 44 yards and a touchdown. Javorius “Buck” Allen also helped to seal the game with some tough runs late in the game. Allen also had a touchdown earlier in the game. Dixon went down with an injury on the final drive. Jackson rushed for 39 yards and threw for 24, completing only one of four pass attempts. On special teams, Justin Tucker was 2/2 on field goals with a long of 41. Janarion Grant had a solid day, aside from a muffed punt. Grant had a long punt return of 54 yards. Baltimore now faces a short week before heading to Cincinnati to face the Bengals on Thursday Night Football.Four storylines for Ravens vs. Redskins Week 4 preseason matchup The Baltimore Ravens are set to face the Washington Redskins in Week 4 of the preseason, and there is a lot at stake. The Ravens are currently on a 12-game preseason winning streak, but protecting that streak will be the least of their concerns. Every NFL team will have to trim their 90-man rosters down to 53 by Saturday, September 1st at 4 pm ET. Much like every other team, the Ravens will have several difficult decisions to make. 1. Which wide receiver can emerge from the rest?The fifth and sixth wide receiver spots are up for grabs. It appears to be a four-man competition for two spots: Janarion Grant, Breshad Perriman Youth Michael Crabtree Jersey , Tim White, and Jordan Lasley. Grant has yet to make much of an impact as a receiver, but he has been a dynamic returner. Although he is currently leading the returner competition, Grant will need to have more production offensively. After having his first target of the 2018 preseason turn into an interception because of a dropped pass, Perriman has bounced back in a big way. He has eight receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown. Perriman’s route running and hands have improved, but will Baltimore give him another chance, or have they given up on him?He has had the worst preseason performance in this group, but Lasley flashed his potential in Baltimore’s win over the Dolphins. Lasley recorded three receptions for 30 yards, and he showcased his dangerous YAC ability. He has struggled with drops throughout the preseason, but it is likely he will make the 53-man roster.Tim White had the returning job all but locked up heading into the preseason Youth Tony Jefferson Jersey , but his roster stock plummeted following a fumble on a punt return. White was given limited reps not only as a returner but as a wide receiver after that fumble. He had an impressive showing against Miami, but it might not have been enough to overtake Grant. 2. Robert Griffin III revenge gameGriffin III will have one last opportunity to showcase his talents before the Ravens have to make a difficult decision; can they keep three quarterbacks? With Joe Flacco likely sitting out, Lamar Jackson and Griffin III will receive another game with extended reps. Can Griffin III secure a roster spot? Is Lamar Jackson ready to be a backup quarterback? That is without a doubt the most important question that the Ravens have to answer when deciding Griffin III’s fate 3. LB Albert McClellan vs. LB Chris BoardThe inside linebacker competition has changed since Kamalei Correa was traded to the Tennessee Titans. The final spot will likely either go to Board or McClellan, and the competition is up in the air. McClellan is a veteran linebacker, who has struggled on the defensive side of the ball, but he is an outstanding special teams player. Board has flashed both defensively and on special teams, but he has not played top-tier competition. The Ravens could opt to keep only three inside linebackers until Bam Bradley is ready to return following Week 6. 4. Who will win the defensive line competition?One of Baltimore’s deepest position groups is the defensive line, and the injury to Willie Henry has made this group a must-watch in the preseason finale. The Ravens will carry seven or eight defensive linemen, and six are roster-locks: Henry, Brandon Williams Cheap Ronnie Stanley Jersey , Michael Pierce, Brent Urban, Chris Wormley, and Patrick Ricard. 2019 NFL Draft Preview: Guards The Miami Dolphins have had a need at guard (and really our whole line) for as long as I can remember.....this year I believe is different.How our current unit will really preform is yet to be seen Cheap Xavien Howard Jersey , but I am optimistic for this season.They signed Josh Sitton from the Bears, and he is listed as a starter along with Jesse Davis.I personally like the Sitton signing and think he’s a great addition to a position that has long been a problem.Jesse Davis is a guy who really impressed during the season last year and earned himself a starting job.I feel pretty comfortable with this group which is something I have not been able to say for quite some time.However, I do believe that depth is needed.This year’s class of guards is one that I still don’t have the best handle on yet.I think Wisconsin’s o-line is going to be one of the best in college football, so I am going to start there and begin with their starting LT (who I believe is a better fit inside).... Michael Deiter, Wisconsin (Sr)Deiter is part of a highly talented Wisconsin offensive line.Dietor is the starting LT for the Bagers but brings a lot of versatility to the table, which is why many believe he can start not only at tackle, but guard and center too.Off the film I’ve watched on him, I’d like him best at guard.I think he’s a solid run and pass blocker and has good hands but struggles with the speed rush and his athleticism isn’t up to par.He needs to also work on keeping good balance and improving his awareness.That said, Deiter can hold his own in both the run and pass and I anticipate him being a top prospect for the 2019 draft. Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY SportsBeau Benzschawel, Wisconsin (Sr)Benzschawel’s tape was really good.He’s a fantastic run blocker and uses his arms/hands effectively in pass protection.I think Benzschawel will certainly have a chance to be a high pick.He’s a talented guy; I’d like to see him drive his opponents better and get lower more consistently but Benzschawel is a solid and tough guard that would help any team.Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY SportsLester Cotton, Alabama (Sr)Cotton is a big bodied guy who is a great all around lineman.I think he’s solid in both the run and the pass and I think he does a great job of consistently getting leverage.He’s also got strong hands and a nice punch to knock defenders off their feet.He’s not a super athletic guy though and I think he struggles to get to the 2nd level in time, getting ahead of the play while pulling and tends to get handsy while blocking on the move.Cotton has some great strengths though and could emerge as one of the top guards in this draft.Advertiser-USA TODAY NETWORKDerwin Gray Albert Wilson Jersey , Maryland (Sr)Gray is similar to Cotton in that he’s a big bodied guy who isn’t that athletic.I think Gray is actually a little more athletic than Cotton but still that’s not where they will make their money.Gray is currently the starting LT for Maryland but he will be a guard in the NFL.He’s got heavy, strong hands and a good anchor.I think he needs to drive better and be more consistent, but Gray could be a solid pick with another good year.Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY SportsDru Samia, Oklahoma (Sr)Samia’s film was a little underwhelming to me.He’s got potential but he really needs to get stronger and learn to latch unto defenders better.He does a good job of getting in the right position but I saw too many times defenders just throw him off.Samia is a fighter and the motor is there, he just improve on driving opponents, eliminating guys from the play, staying low ect.. The Lions come in to this week having won only two games but those two wins were over the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots. When the teams released their inactive lists for the game, the Dolphins did not include Stills Womens Bobby McCain Jersey , who has been battling a groin injury and was on the field at Hard Rock Stadium early in the morning running and testing his recovery. He apparently did well enough that the Dolphins will use him this afternoon.The Dolphins ruled inactive quarterback Ryan Tannehill, linebacker Matrell Spaight, center Wesley Johnson, defensive end Jonathan Woodard, tackle Sam Young, tight end A.J. Derby, and defensive end Charles Harris.The Jets rules out cornerback Trumaine Johnson, cornerback Derrick Jones, linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis, offensive lineman Dakota Dozier, outside linebacker Frankie Luvu, tight end Neal Sterline, and defensive lineman Folorunso Fatukasi. That means the Jets will also have wide receivers available who could have been on the inactive list, with both Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson active. Kickoff for today’s game is at 1pm ET at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
