Hi I’m looking at doing some music on my G4 450. I also want to do it by mouse, as I am a disabled person with limited use of my hands. The system should cost less then 1,000 dollars. Any suggestions on products?

What I think I need.
· A recording/mixing program. No more then 24 channels will be needed. Also voice recording capabilities.
· A synth program that has easy step writing on screen interface. Able to loop sequences.
· A drum program with the same requirements as synth.
· Effects program
· A exporter to formats like mp3 and QuickTime.

Anything else?

I'd recommend a ProTools LE setup...it now comes with a slimmed down version of Reason. (If the slimmed down version isn't enough, get the full version...you'll still be under $1000). I finally bought a keyboard, just for kicks, but I had been doing all of my synth building in Reason itself.

Digidesign Mbox $450
Propellerhead's Reason $350

yep... if you get something like Digi001 or Mbox... you will can get the ProTools LE program with it which is really great software. Reason would be a nice addition to it as well since it provides the drums and synths and lets you use mouse or midi controller to input notes... you can get plugs for the PTLE program as well to furnish your drums and synths so it can all be done in one program.

PS... like the title of the topic... cute wink.gif
