A bought some audio gear from a friend of my by brother. I didn't really know what I was buying and they guy really needed the money, so I got a really good deal on some gear and now I would like to record with it. However, I don't know much about recording and would like any help from you audio geeks out there. I want to record just guitar (classical) and just the computer to edit take(s) and convert file(s)

Can I get recording with this stuff, or am I missing something. here's what I got:
-Behringer (ULTRAGAIN PRO MIC2200 Preamp)
-Behringer (AUTOCOM MDX1400)
-Behringer (ULTRAGRAPH PRO FBQ1502)
-MXR (990/991 Condensor mics)
-Boss BR-8 (8 track recorder)

What else might I need for these racks? I am thinking about buying a power conditioner.

Thanks for all your help rolleyes.gif

Hi
Plug the mics into the Preamp then into the BR-8 and start recording !
You can experiment with the compressor ,graphic equalizer and computer later
Depending on what recording / sequencing software and computer you are using you should be able to either control
the computer recording software's transport section via MIDI from the BR-8
BR-8 has no USB connection so transfer your sound files for editing to your computer via digital out, otherwise
transfer them through the graphic and compressor to the computer via line in
Alternatively record direct to the computer using the mics
Above all, experiment until you get the easiest and best sounding way of recording either with the BR-8 as a recorder or the computer or both
You can still use the BR-8 as a mixer into the computer I suspect
Good luck !

Well, I guess I gotta ask how you plan on connecting your BR8 to your computer. If it is a simple USB connection or something that is fine. Or, you may have to use the Line Outs of your BR8 to go into your computer via an interface. If that is the case you are cofronted with the question of wheter you would even want to stick with the BR8 and just record your stuff directly into your Mac using Garageband.
