I am about to buy a music software. Maybe Pro Tools, maybe Logic Pro 7.
Can Files made with Pro Tools be used in Logic Pro 7?
Is there an educational discount for Pro Tools as there is for Logic Pro 7?
I have a G5 dual 2ghz with 10.3.9 and a 14" G4 ibook ith 10.4.2. I was thinking of buying some version of Logic Pro. Given the move to intel chips I am wondering what the best strategy is? I presume Logic Pro 7 would be available at a cheaper price given that it is made for older machines? If so, the obvious strategy seems to be to wait a while, buy Logic Pro 7 once there is a 'new' version available for the intel macs, and just content myself with being a bit behind the times. (At the same time, it might even be worth buying an 'old', top-of-the-range Powerbook, as I know Logic ain't going to work well on the ibook)
The educational discount on Logic Pro goes beyond the normal. So much so that one can only assume that Apple are being, in their own inimitable way, rather underhanded with the smal print. What is the difference between the full Logic Pro 7 and the thing they try to pawn you off with as Logic Pro Academic?
I have been recording sketches for songs live onto a SOny Mini Disc MZ R37. I would now like to put them onto my G5 (into Garageband). Can anyone tell me how I go about doing this?
I am about to buy Logic 7 for my Powermac 2x2Ghz, with 2.5 gig of RAM and 2 x 120gb internal harddrives.
Can someone please tell me whether I need to/or should also purchase a sound card?
Can someone please advise on what keyboard I should get, and what monitors.
