I'm getting some money in a month or two here, and was going to put together a little project studio. So far I've got some cheap (but usable) monitors, a Nord Lead 2x keyboard, and a 2 port motu midi interface. I'm going with Ableton live for the software (I've already got Reason 3, and the vanguard plugin). What software or hardware should I get? The presonus firebox looks nice; what do you guys recommend? thanks

After recently installing Logic 7.1.1 my Reaktor 4.1.3 repeatedly returned a "Error code -32766" from core audio. Anyone know the meaning of this error code? Any one run in to similar problems with plugins in 7.1.1?

Hello,

I've had a few problems recording with my 828 mk1. The drivers are the latest (1.2.5) and I'm running Tiger (10.4.1). Logic Express 7.0.1. The problem is, when I enable 24-bit recording in Logic, I'm having about 4-8/10 recordings coming up sounding distorted / glitched. When 24-bit recording is not enabled in Logic, 10/10 recordings came back fine. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I seem to have isolated it to the 24-bit recording. Would I need a different buffer size at 24-bit mode? Thanks for any help.

I am running Logic Express 7 with a MOTU 828mk1 card.

HELP! I am going absolutely nuts. After trying many different things, I'm unable to create new tracks in the arrange window. I read and re-read the Logic Express manual, and apparently I need to click the option "Track > Create with next Instrument". Unfortunately this option is not available! Under the Track menu I can only "Create" and "Create multiple", which both only copy the existing track. How in the hell do I add more tracks to my arrange window? Am I completely stupid or what?

I'm sure its old news by now, but in case anyone doesn't know, Logic and Logic Express version 7.1 will be released soon as a $19.95 upgrade. ( http://www.apple.com/logic ) Some features look pretty interesting, such as the "Follow Tempo" feature and the "hybrid synths"... although I'm a little confused about the synths. Does anyone know if these are just combined versions of existing synths, or are these new synths or what?!
