Hi - I've just purchased Logic and have been very happy with it on the whole. One problem 'm having though it with the exs sampler and the time it take to laod samples.

For sample storage, I've got a iomega firewire drive hooked up to my mac. I'm assuming I need to have exs preferences set to search for samples on "external volumes", since they are on my external firewire drive.
The problem is that they take so long to load, 45 seconds to a minute per patch. Is there any way tp recuding the search/load time? I'd rather not put them on my internal hard drive...

Thanks

Once you have loaded a patch, does it take as long to load the same patch the next time?

Have you run project manager to link the file paths of your sampler instruments with the samples?

You may want to look at EXS Manager if you have a large sample library.

There shouldn't be any problem with the loaction of your samples on a firewire drive. I use one for some of my sample library.
