yes i have the most current version of panther, and yes the core audio driver works with other apps. itunes, recycle, peak, quicktime, and pro tools all work fine. oh yeah also reason 2.5 plays through the mbox. only logic will not work. it just say selected driver not found when i choose core audio. i'm pulling my hair out over this. all i wna to do is use logic! i can't find anything on the digi user forums, or logic user forums. no one seems to have an answer for me and i can't fix it myslef. i have tried everything i can think of. thanks for all the replys but i'm am jsut about over this mobx crap. as you can see i'm not a very patient person. hahahaha. i just want it to work is that to much to ask for. it's only with digi products that i have ever had problems like this with. they just don't play well with others.
so did you ever have any problems like this with your mbox? if you have any suggestions that might help me it would be greatly appreciated. This post has been edited by APPARATUS: Thu 19 Aug 2004, 18:37 |

All I can say is I also regret buying the Mbox. Not a fantastic card to say the least.

I had all the above problems with MBox
It turned out I didn't have the latest MBox firmware - once I downloaded this and updated jmy MBOX (best thing to do is download it and try and update it - it'll tell you if it doesn't need updating) then everything worked. Note - I didn't say everything worked fine - but everything worked. If your using ProTools then Mbox is a cheap option to learn it with. Using it with Logic has such a high level of latency that it is unuseable. If you really want to use Logic - sell the MBox and buy a half decent sound card. well i know pro tools really really well. i teach audio post production at full sail and work with pro tools hd systems and the pro control. we mix in 5.1 surround. i know logic pretty good but not everything there is to know. even other instructors have never seen this problem. i haven't had a chance to talk to anyone in the midi dept. yet that might could help because i've been on vacation. so i'm going to try the firmware update and see if that fixes it.
thanks, darren |

QUOTE (APPARATUS @ Aug 23 2004, 00:50) i teach audio post production at full sail Right on brother, I see you are out of Orlando, I'm down here in Tampa. Cheers mate, Hope you didn't get any hurricane damage. ...I am still baffled by the mBox/Logic issue. Have you tried another computer? Another mBox? I'm running out of ideas. Like I said before I use it w/ Logic Express on 2 different computers and the same setup on two of my friends project studio also. (so it is possible) ...I'm heading over there, see you in 45 min. -------------------- |

Aaah, one last idea...
When you run the Logic Setup Assistant, there is that check box for using DAE w/ ProTools and it disables the Core Audio. Run the Logic Setup Assistant and have a look at that. It needs to be Un-Checked. ( I think I had set mine up like that once before and got a core audio error. ) ...Worth a try at least. -------------------- |

Under the Logic Menu > Preferences...> Start Logic Setup Assistant...
In the Audio section of setup assistant select "Digidesign HW (mBox)" uncheck "TDM Support with Logic" and also uncheck "Disable Core Audio" -------------------- |
