Hi,

I recently upgraded my ibook to ~700mb RAM and bought a 2nd hand iMic.

Problem is that I experience pretty poor latency when monitoring the recordings live.

Is it my ibook or imic that is the cause of this latency?

It's bad enough that I can't use Logic Express 7 (as I play live piano and the delay drives me mad) and garage band is just a fraction better.

Is it the cheap iMic to blame - hope so - cheaper to replace than an ibook!! Would i be better off with a more expensive soundcard?

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Anderz

That isn't your Ibook, it is that shit of Imic, I've one that I didn't used since more than three years...

Buy another cheap sound card if you can, as Edirol or M-Audio one, even in second hand...

Imic is only good to digitalize some vynil or as out audio at least, but not as in with monitoring, even with the asio in macos 9! sad.gif wink.gif

Hiya,

Thanks for the info regarding the iMic....

I guess the next question is - what USB or FIREWIRE ex. soundcard should I try?

I'll create a new post to see what others think....

Many thanks!

Anders

Try the Tascam US-122. It's USB/MIDI in/out and it's cheap, portable and works really well with 10.2.8.

I use a 2 button mouse with my Mac and discovered right clicking on the title and selecting "more info" from the drop down menu opens a window that allows you to edit the title as well as almost anything else about the selection. I'm sure there is a way to do the same thing with a Single button mouse.
