hi there,
first off, thanks for reading this post! I bought virtual guitarist electric edition last week, and I'd like to switch between players, the rhythms available to each player, and the various software 'stompboxes' that are in the effects section of the plugin. Is there any way I can get Logic 4.81 under OS 9 to recognise these changes throughout the progress of ONE VSti track, or do I have to assign a new software instrument each time I want to, for instance, change guitar sound? Any help greatly appreciated Ambrose |

i think what you are asking is possible using a change program command through midi. I never used the virtual guitarist plug so can't say if for sure or how to do it though. I think if you can get the hyperdraw to show the control number for change program... you can set the patches to change for each section of your composition if you like... but you may experience some delay between patch changes though and depending on the speed and notes might not produce what you seek and might be better using seperate tracks for different patches

hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with Virtual Guitarist on logic 4.8. I've used res edit and mac fix to make it work, but what happens is that it shows "loading" sign, but does nothing more Paulette |

I don't understand... you used ResEdit to make it work? Are you saying you cracked it? Good luck making any cracked program work if so and good luck getting help because that kinda thing is frowned upon here.

I haven't able to make Virtual Guitarist work from CD and so I searched on the internet for alternative methods to order to use it. Res Edit was one suggestion on http://vg.clubcubase.pp.nu/download_updates.htm. The fact of the matter is that I can't seem to be able to get the preset files to load and was wondering if nyone could help me with this.

sorry... resedit is usually used to hack is why I asked
did presets load before you used resedit? that does sound very irritating... I have never used before but see if it will let you browse your HD for the presets somehow maybe in the plugin setup? There is something you usually have to do to get Virtual Guitarist to work with Logic, but I can't remember quite what it is, and I'm not at my Mac now (at work on a horrible Windows 98 machine).
I would recommend you have a look at the FAQs on the Steinberg website - there's a VG forum also. That's where I found the solution, whatever it was! Best of luck |
