Pro Tools and AAC (mpeg-4 audio).
Does anyone have any information on these two playing together? I can't seem to find any info on the Digidesign site. Are we waiting for an Mpeg-4 option like the optional MP3 encode/decode feature currently available at an extra charge. If so, when can we expect to see it? Thanks to anyone that can help. |

I don't know about direct Digidesign support for AAC, but you can convert AAC to AIFF using iTunes and import that into Pro Tools, if that's what you are looking for. For the most Apple is the only company doing anything with AAC, I don't see a lot of other companies jumping to support it.

Ah. Yes, I've been having to use iTunes as you have suggested while at home. It really slows down the sound design process.
We use Soundminer at work...it has a rewire plugin so you can audition in Pro Tools. Should anyone hear of any developments, please let me know... Thanks for your time, PristineRec. |
