I don't know Live but I beleive it's only a midi sequencer. If this is the case you can import audio samples - a note on a piano for example. However, this does not mean you can import audio tunes.
I may be wrong -------------------- Without shit, we wouldn't be here ;)

from my experiences with importing from itunes into Live. You'll have to 1:convert whichever files your using (in most cases mp3's) to .aiff, or .wavs, so that Live can read them 2: either drag them from itunes to your desktop, or find them manually (where you store all your itunes music). After completing those steps the files will show up in Live. Once you do it a couple times it'll become real easy to do. Good luck! KLM

MKallen is right, no mp3's in Live
and no drag and drop fun with Live neither so you have to pick up the audio files from your Itunes music folder. A nice solution would have been to rewire both applications (but Itunes don't allow you to choose a output driver, so...) This post has been edited by abdul6: Thu 23 Sep 2004, 08:36 |

cheers for the response
yeh, found this out myself aswell. I just converted all the files to aif format. Now I am using it along with my decks to loop acappellas over the top, it works pretty well, but i find it annoying how there is no function for pitching up or down like you would with a deck to get a sample in time. -------------------- |

If your only using live for vocal acappellas over your records couldn't you just use the master tempo in live to get the right time?

in a perfect world I think we'd just be able to sync everything up to clock and forget about beatmatching altogether . Live brings the abilty to be more creative within the structures of songs and the music altogether. It's changed the way I, along with everyone else that comes around me, think of music now.
