I'm recording with a Powerbook G4, on to an external hard drive with Logic Audio 6. I use an Edirol PCR-A30 usb midi-controller which has built in A/D converters. I record at 24bit, 48kHz. When I record, the audio take is always about 50 - 100 ms behind the beat (no, it's not just my bad timing). I checked it by recording the click track and it's pretty consistent. I always have to slide the starting point of the audio object over after each take.
Does anyone know of any settings to correct this? |

Have you tried Audio hardware and Drivers > Core Audio > Recording delay?

Thanks for the reply. I use OSX and there is no recording delay option in the Core Audio settings. From what I can tell, that option is only in the OS 9 version. I'll try Emagic support but it seems hard to find a person there.

After some back and forth with E-magic, I got upgraded to Logic Express which is the same as what I had except it had some bug fixes. They added a recording delay setting which it turns out I didn't have to use. With Logic Express, my recording is now synched up properly with the playback, without setting any recording delay. There were other fixes too which were nice to see like when you move a track in the arrange window, it now moves it in the track mixer window too.
