Hello,
I can't use my mBox with Logic right now because my demo key expired (I tested out a Logic demo before I got my mBox, and the trial period is up). I'd try this however. Open up 'Digidesign CoreAudio Setup' in your /Applications/Digidesign folder. Click on the supported applications option. Remove the generic Logic application by highlighting it and clicking remove selected application (I believe it will say 'Logic Audio'.) Click on add new application, and then add your version of Logic. Make sure when you're launching Logic that the mBox isn't being used by another CoreAudio app, such as iTunes, or a DAE app, such as ProTools. Digidesign only allows one CoreAudio app to work with the mBox at a time. -Jacob W |

mbox may not work on DAE... I think I had to use ASIO or another audio format in OS9 with Logic and my Digi001.

Macmat,
I have another trial period to use Logic on another machine, and have just tested out using it with an mBox. The DAE error is really only applicable when working with the TDM systems, as far as I can tell. Use the Core Audio driver with Logic and the mBox Steps for setting up Logic to use the Core Audio driver and the mBox >> Set up the Digidesign CoreAudio driver to work with Logic 1) Launch the Digidesign CoreAudio Setup Utility 2) Click supported applications 3) If Logic is not available in the list, add it by clicking add new application, and then selecting Logic 4) Click done and quit the setup utility >> Configure Logic's audio drivers 5) Launch Logic 6) Click continue when confronted with the DAE error dialog box 7) Once Logic has loaded, go to the Logic Platinum --> Preferences --> Audio & Hardware drivers menu 8) Uncheck the DAE box. You'll be using the mBox 9) Assuming the mBox is still connected, select the Digidesign HW option under the CoreAudio dropdown menu. 10) Restart Logic as instructed, and you should be ready to go! -Jacob W |

Hi jacobw and synthetic
I thank you for your answers. I didnt reply sooner because I wasnt at home for a time... Last month, I was searching the way to make Mbox and logic ok with OS9, but I ll remember your reply when I ll make this with OSX. A good way to solve the problem is in fact to use the digidesign direct I/O included with pro tools software...cool. Bye. mat |
