you don't install it. you open a terminal, at the command prompt you should be in the directory where your script is located. the type perl <name of script>
and it will run.

If you're trying to use it on a website, put it in your cgi-bin. If you don't have one, put this in your httpd.conf file, between the <virtualhost> and </virtualhost> tags.

scriptalias /cgi-bin/ "/usr/user456/www/thesite.com/cgi-bin"

Of course, replace the path with your own path information.
