We have iMac; G3; 600MHz; 256 Mb RAM; 40Gb; OS 10.2.8 ; OS 9.2; Cubasis VST 2.0
We have os 10.2.8 installed and use this all the time. We have cubasis vst 2.0 installed which only operates in OS 9.2. We would like to use this in the classic mode of OSX but it doesnt seem to work. Is there anything we can do about this.
Also is there a similar version of cubasis for OSX that we might buy?

No, it can't and no, there isn't.

You could try the entry-level of Cubase SX - SE or SL or S something. SX is much better than the old Cubase. And if you're making the move to OS X for music, there are plenty of other apps around as well.

Also, something is telling me that there are issues with old Cubase songs and the new OS X Cubase. I could be mistaken, but you might want to check that out first - there might be no legacy reasons for sticking with Cubase, which would broaden your options.

The newer version of Cubase won't run on your machine. sad.gif

Unless you want to buy a new machine, you're going to have to stick with cubasis/other mac os9 audio software. There doesn't seem to be many good programs for G3s (I'm in the same boat as you).

That's not really true. I run SX 1.06 on a 466 MHz G4. Even though I have a G4, the G3 is a bit faster, and SX doesn't have any AltiVec code in it.

I'm not sure about SX 2 running on that machine though.
